10 Things You Need To Know About Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight
5. He Exposed A Nazi In Hiding
Marc is the son of Rabbi Elias Spector. When Elias was a boy, he was forced to leave his home of Czechoslovakia during World War II after Hitler's forces invaded. Elias settled in Chicago, where he had a family.
Suffering from discrimination for most of his life due to his heritage, Elias refused to fight back, believing that violence led to the same atrocities that he witnessed back home. He attempted to instil this belief into sons, Marc and Randall, hoping they would never give in to their negative impulses.
When Marc was still a child, he discovered his father's friend, Rabbit Yitz Perlman, was actually a Nazi deserter and a serial killer. After exposing Yitz, the Nazi tried to kill Marc but he managed to escape.
Sadly, the attack rattled Marc irreparably and he was never the same. In fact, it has been heavily implied it was this traumatic incident that caused Marc to develop multiple personalities since he began hearing voices soon after.
Marc may have abandoned his faith soon after but there is no mistake that it helped shape him into the man he is today.
