10 Things You Need To Know About Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight
6. He Debuted In A Werewolf Comic
As obscure as Moon Knight is, he debuted in an even more obscure series called Werewolf By Night. The comic centres around a werewolf called Jack Russell who does everything in his power not to give into his animalistic impulses.
In Werewolf By Night #32, Moon Knight made his first appearance as a mercenary hired by a crime gang called The Committee to take Russell down. After Marc armed himself with weapons composed of silver, which werewolves are vulnerable to, he was easily able to subdue Russell.
When he learned The Committee intended to turn Russell into their personal lapdog, the Fist of Khonshu freed him and the pair teamed up to take down The Committee.
It's a pretty straightforward two-part story but it gives no details about Moon Knight's backstory. There's no reference to Egypt, Khonshu, or Marc's multiple personalities. It doesn't even show Marc's face clearly. Based on this story, all we know about Marc is he's a skilled veteran that took part in several revolutions and wars. That's it.
Despite giving little away, readers were clearly intrigued by the Crescent Crusader and wanted to see more. Five years, Moon Knight received his own solo series.
