7. She Didn't Actually Appear In Her First Appearance
A lot of Domino's backstory and history with Cable was introduced a while after she first appeared. In fact, Domino herself was introduced a while after she first appeared.
When Cable took over as the leader of the New Mutants, he recruited Domino to join the team. Domino was loved by the team, becoming a mother-like figure to the teen mutants. When Cable turned the group into the paramilitary team X-Force, she became his second in command.
However, turned out it wasn't actually Domino on the team. A later story revealed that Six Pack's former employer Tolliver had captured the real Domino before Cable contacted her and sent the shapeshifter Copycat to infiltrate the team and kill Cable. Copycat ended up seeing the team as her friends though and couldn't go through with the plan.
Copycat's identity is eventually revealed though by one of Tolliver's agents sent to kill Cable instead, some dumb Spider-Man knockoff looking guy called Deadpool.
With Copycat's cover blown, Cable used her to sneak into Tolliver's base and rescue the real Domino.
Interestingly, it's unclear who actually created Copycat. Rob Liefeld created Domino, but no-one knows if he intended her to be Copycat from the start or if it was a twist that later writer Fabian Nicieza added in.
