10 Times Batman And The Joker Saved Each Other

6. Batman Saves The Joker From The Punisher - Deadly Knights

Punisher Batman Deadly Knights Joker
Marvel Comics/DC Comics

It can be interesting to ponder how things would turn out if certain villains existed in other heroes territory, alternate universe, or across the Marvel/DC divide. One of the most intriguing examples of such a hypothetical, lies in the differences and similarities of DC's Batman and Marvel's Punisher. Similar in so many ways; non-superpowered genius-level tacticians, ruthless and intimidating in their different ways.

But Batman, of course, famously doesn't take lives. Nor does Superman, his closest major ally across the water in Metropolis. The Punisher, however, is quite notorious for taking lives with no real scruples, so long as his victim has crossed his particular code of ethics.

As this crossover shows, the Joker is lucky he is alive in the DC Universe. Because if he was a Marvel villain, there is a good chance Frank Castle might have finished him off long ago. Our pointy-eared protagonist, in fact, gets between Castle and the Clown Prince of Crime in this crossover, telling the Gotham rogue to run, before informing the Punisher that, though Frank may live by his own rules, they do things a little differently in the Caped Crusader's neck of the woods.
