10 Wacky Alternate DC Comics Universes That Need Exploration
5. Earth 29 The Bizarro World*
We hate Bizarroverse! says the opposite-obsessed, backwards version of Superman Bizarro. One of Supermans greatest villains (we use that term loosely here), Bizarro first debuted during the Silver age of comics in Superboy #68. While there are many villains who serve as mirrors or foils for heroes, Bizarro stands out due to the buffoonery that usually ensues within his stories. Earth 29 takes the concept of Bizarro and applies it to an entire universe: an overcrowded reality dominated by broken physics and comprised of back-ass-wards versions of the DC characters. On Htrae Superman-Bizarro leads the Unjustice League. Nearby planets include Nnar home of Adam Familiar, and Ao the base for the Dismissers of the Universe. Recently highlighted in the Greg Pak penned and Aaron Kuder illustrated Action Comics (vol.2) #40, Earth 29 will be a part of the all-ages Bizarro six-issue mini-series (written by Heath Corson with Gustavo Duarte on art), which will hit the shelves June 2015. *NOTE: You may need to grab a mirror to understand some of the words in this article.
Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
