10 X-Men Characters Who Look Nothing Like The Movies

9. Pyro - X2 & X-Men: The Last Stand

Fans may remember Pyro more from his appearances on X-Men: The Animated Series rather than his time in the comics due to his limited use in print. Still, the cartoon nailed his comic book appearance, which isn't something that could be said of his live-action showing in the early X-Men films.

Pyro appeared in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, thanks to a portrayal by Aaron Stanford. The early X-Men films made a lot of changes to costumes and equipment due to the difficulty in translating bright spandex into something an audience could take seriously, so changes were widespread.

For Pyro, he wasn't exactly represented in the same way he was in the cartoon or in the comics, which is mostly due to the fact that he was a student at Xavier's School for Gifted youngsters. He didn't have a costume, which made sense for the movie, but he eventually turned to Magneto and became a bad guy.

His costume didn't change much in the second film appearance, and he looked nothing like his comic book counterpart. Pyro has bright red hair, and he most often wears a yellow and red costume featuring tubing from his wrists to a tank on his back, which supplies the necessary flame for him to manipulate, turning him into a human flamethrower.
