4. Riddler - Inability To Lie
According to issue, Justice #2, the Riddler propensity for riddles isn't a gimmick; it's a compulsion. Edward Nygma was so profoundly intelligent from an early age, he aced every test in school. His father was so jealous of his son's intellect, he accused him of cheating and regularly tortured him to punish him for his "lies". This experience traumatised Nygma so badly, he became incapable of lying. The abuse also led him down a path of crime and supervillainy.
Now, if you can't fib, being a criminal is the worst career move you could possible make. You need to lie to be a criminal mastermind, right? But Nygma found a way around this. For his crimes, he doesn't hide anything. He tells the authorities exactly what he is going to do... but he will only speak in riddles.
The problem is that since Batman is the world's greatest detective, he solves the enigmatic evildoer's riddles with ease. Even though the Riddler is considered Batman's smartest adversary, he is constantly defeated because he tells his nemesis how to stop him.
If he blew up a building or kidnapped someone without the "Riddle Me This" schtick, he would be a much more dangerous foe.
