6. The Second Roster Was Made Up Of Villains

By issue #16 of The Avengers, the team would undergo the first of many major roster shake ups. Only Captain America remained when Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, and The Wasp all took off, and his team was very different to what had come before. His "Kooky Quartet" was made up of Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch, characters who had all previously been portrayed as villains. It was a bold move, but one which worked in the title's favour.
