8 Great Perks They Should Keep For NYCC 2018
1. Moving Lines Through Multiple Entrances
Confusion and frustration were rampant whenever fans trekked to previous New York Comic Cons. With fine-tuned ears, the organizers listened to their complaints and improved the points of entry.
The new entrances were tailored to the individual customer's travel needs and badge category. Staff members were posted outside the conference center to point ticket holders to their nearest Comic Con entrance in four separate sections. Green Entrances were for buyers with badges in hand. Subway travelers had two convenient options instead of a single packed route. This was also the case for exhibitors and artists who had double the Blue Entrances to go into so they could set up shop.
For the visitors who showed up for the whole weekend, the multiple lines were a practical change. Many Comic Con stalwarts stay in hotels or friends' homes and don't relish the idea of getting up early in the morning. With the awareness that one-day visitors had more entrances, veterans could elect to come later in the day since they knew the layout of the land.
To erase the hiccups of past conventions, metal detectors and an increased police presence were included in the security process. This didn't affect the fun staples of New York Comic Con however. Cosplay weapons and props were evaluated with cooperative patrons breezing through soon afterwards. The lines, containing over two hundred thousand visitors, ran smoothly, which highlights why it should be used in 2018.
Twice the entrances more than doubled the satisfaction of NYCC's massive audience.
