9 Comics You Should Be Reading This Week (18th Oct)

7. Suicide Squad #4

Harley Quinn Suicide Squad 4
DC

DC, Williams/Lee/FrankWilliams/Hope/Glapion/Scott/Sinclair/Anderson/Leigh

Worth Reading For: The Art and the Fun (You Missed In The Film)

Deep inside an unidentified undersea prison the Suicide Squad are in mid-battle with the lunatic Kryptonion Zod and the “Annhilalation Brigade” who are trying to contain him. Having already lost one of their number, the Suicide Squad are living up to their title where it seems somebody has been stockpiling super-villains.

Rob Williams (“Judge Dredd”) has landed exactly upon the right amount of bravado, puns and craziness everybody was hoping for in this year’s “Suicide Squad” film. Alongside Jim Lee’s legendary pencils and a whole team of world-class inkers, the “Suicide Squad” is working out to be one of the highlights of DC’s “Rebirth”.

Each issue seems to be half main-arc and half-character development (another thing fans were hoping to see more of in the film) and #4 is no different. We have a freak Joker appearance in an episode where Harley’s loyalty is put into question. Gary Frank (“Midnight Nation”) and Brad Anderson (“Batman Eternal”) bring William’s (and Harley’s) lunacy to light in spectacular fashion!

A. J. S. Scott was created as a homunculus by a mad English Alchemist who was trying to make rum from ink and seawater. He is still a fan of both and he has no comment on what happened to all the ‘No Exit’ signs in Islington Underground Station when he visited for Beltaine. You can send him missives by bribing the Right Raven with sour-strings, or: Instagram: @ajsscott Tumblr: andrew-scott-things.tumblr.com
