9 Female DC Superheroes Who Also Deserve Solo Movies

8. Vixen

Catwoman Comics
DC Comics

Whilst Vixen has a lot in common with Marvel's Black Panther, she more than stands up on her own as a unique hero. Able to mimic the abilities of any animal on the planet through a magic totem, Mari McCabe is a relatively obscure character who has become popular in recent years thanks to numerous appearances in the comics and TV shows.

DC has already set the bar for female superhero movies, so why not snag another milestone and make the first to be led by a woman of colour?

Vixen certainly deserves her own spotlight, but she's obscure enough that perhaps she should be tested out as a supporting character in another movie. Perhaps in a Wonder Woman sequel with long-time nemesis Cheetah, where they could engage in a literal cat fight? Whatever the case, Vixen would make a good representative for animal-based superheroes in lieu of more prominent male characters like Animal Man or Beast Boy.

If you want to check out some more Vixen, there's plenty of places to do so. She even got her own self-titled animated web series tying into The CW's Arrowverse before being brought into live-action, and Mari's grandmother takes up the Vixen mantle as a regular on Legends of Tomorrow.
