9 Reasons Why DC Really Is Better Than Marvel

Yes, yes, Marvel have DC beat when it comes to the big-screen. The MCU is unstoppable and, for the most part, has managed to represent all there is to love about the Marvel Universe over the course of the last ten years. It's fantastic, and while Wonder Woman illustrated that DC can catch up eventually, their other cinematic efforts have done anything but inspire confidence.

That needn't be such a massive thing, however. Marvel have squared DC away with relative ease, and while comics discourse would imply that the cinematic rivalry is a life or death thing (it isn't), DC already have something Marvel don't: a wonderful collection of animated efforts.

They might not be as big or as bombastic as the MCU, or nearly as culturally significant, but they are stunning. Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League and Young Justice are testaments to that, and DC have gone one step further in recent years with their own original animated movies. They have declined as of late (no one needs reminding of the double-butt fiasco from Batman & Harley Quinn), but Marvel are nowhere near DC's level when it comes to animation, despite a relatively brief (albeit iconic) resurgence in the mid-to-late nineties.

With a third season of Young Justice on the way, and with a catalogue of animated greats to their name, DC are untouchable when it comes to that particular medium, even if its popularity pales in comparison to the MCU's.
