The universally hated Robin mark II was killed off in the most spectacular way possible due to a phone vote. Beaten with a crowbar by the Joker before being exploded, it wouldn't be until 2005 that he would resurface as the psychopathic Red Hood.
More interested in doing what it took to beat the villains than following any moral code, this Jason Todd would quite happily fill you with lead for any misdemeanors you may have committed.
Fans seem to have rallied behind the character though, with Jason holding down his own book since 2011 as the leader of the Outlaws.
