Marvel NOW! - 5 Books That Could Be Cancelled Next

1. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel

Currently Selling: Around 19,000 copies per month There could be many reasons as to why Captain Marvel hasn't been selling too well recently, but something that definitely isn't a reason is the writer of the title Kelly Sue DeConnick who has been working very hard to keep the title's head above water. So hard in fact, that it makes me sad to say that - for now at least - the book is still in the danger zone. But that's not to say DeConnick's efforts have gone to waste - in fact she's already boosted the title's sales substantially. Back in March of this year the title was in a worse state selling around 17,000 copies per month, but since then DeConnick has boosted these sales up by around 2,000 a month with last month's sales at a healthier 19,600. This is due partly to the crossover DeConnick created titled The Enemy Within which is currently playing out in the pages of not only Captain Marvel but also DeConnick's other (higher selling) book Avengers Assemble. Plus, with Captain Marvel also soon to tie-in to Infinity, I would say that this title still has a chance, despite being the lowest-selling book on this list. Kelly Sue DeConnick also has other projects should the worst happen, from her aforementioned Marvel series Avengers Assemble to her upcoming series at Image Comics, Pretty Deadly with Emma Rios. So those are the five books I would be most worried about at the moment. Are any of these books on your pull list? Let me know in the comments below!
