2. The Fearless Defenders
Currently Selling: Around 20,000 copies per month Cullen Bunn's other ongoing Marvel series, The Fearless Defenders is unfortunately also in the danger zone. The book had a strong debut selling around 53,000 copies of its first issue, however perhaps due to the lack of famous characters the book has fallen under the radar as of late culminating in last month, where it fell to No. 111 selling just over 20,000 copies. The book is likely still around due to Marvel's ongoing attempt to make sure their line-up contains a variety of characters and not just the usual familiar faces. But, like Venom, Bunn's book isn't doomed just yet! The book is one of the many that will be tying into Marvel's upcoming event Infinity written by Jonathan Hickman, and that may boost the sales of the struggling title. However, I feel Infinity will be the book's last chance to prove that it is a financially beneficial title for Marvel. It does bring up a very important question as well, why do comic fans cry out for more female-led books as when they are released, evidently many fans aren't buying them? This is backed up by the final book on this list which is also led by one of Marvel's most powerful female heroes (as well as one of their most powerful heroes overall!)
