Spider-Man: Homecoming - 13 Things We Already Know

8. We're Going Back To High School (But It's Not An Origin)

Though The Amazing Spider-Man had Peter back at school after Raimi's Peter Parker grew up into a (miserable) young adult, Marvel are big on being the first to show a much younger Spidey in high-school.

As Kevin Feige told Slashfilm, the point with Spider-Man is that he offers a completely different experience point to the rest of the Avengers: he doesn't run a business, or worry about grown-up love or responsibilities, he balances his heroics with entirely different concerns:

"We wanted to show a much younger Spidey, in contrast to our other heroes, a Spidey who as was he was in the early €™60s, when he was first created in the Marvel bullpen was totally different from the Marvel heroes. The other heroes don€™t have to worry about homework. They don€™t have to worry about being home at a certain time. That€™s what makes Spider-Man Spider-Man. We also wanted to let audiences know he€™s already Spider-Man; he€™s been Spider-Man for a little while when we meet him."

But make no mistake, this is not an origin story - as Feige says everyone in the world already knows it - and thankfully we won't see a retreading of the same ground.
