The Beautiful Batman Comic DC Fans Somehow Missed

2. The Story Is Phenomenal

As with any good comic book, the story in Batman: Europa is quite fantastic.

It may not exactly be on the same level as other classic bat-tales, but it's certainly great. Without going into much detail, the main premise of the series is that Batman has to team-up with the most unlikely of allies, his nemesis the Joker, as they travel across the different cities of Europe.

Unlike the majority of tales focusing on the clown prince of crime though, we actually learn some new details about the character - or at least how he manages to gather the materials he uses for his insane schemes. With the on-screen version of the character beginning to make the transition from antagonist to protagonist with Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal, this book may have even taken on a new relevance, featuring the perfect mix of the classic, more evil Joker, as well as his more charismatic, less stabby side. It creates some excellent interactions between him and the Bat, with the relationship between the two characters acting as the driving force behind the text itself.

The main pair aside, the actual story is one filled with twists and turns, as well as being seemingly one of the few Batman tales (of recent years) to focus on the detective elements the character is supposed to be known for.
