The Beautiful Batman Comic DC Fans Somehow Missed

1. It Might Be One Of The Most Stunning Bat-Books Too

Batman: Europa (Cover)
DC Comics

The story of Batman: Europa may be good, but the art that accompanies it is gosh darned spectacular.

With the entire book being a collaboration between American and European creators, there are several artists that worked on the comic - all equally deserving of special praise. Giuseppe Camuncoli, Jim Lee, Diego Latorre and Gerald Parel, with colours by all of those just mentioned (other than Lee) - along with Alex Sinclair - round off Europa's list of talented artists, with each story boasting a unique look and feel, ensuring that each issue feels different too.

Each issue is simply beautiful, and with the variety of artists on the book, there is sure to be at least one style that appeals to everyone.

The mixture of talent from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean has some pretty major thematic implications as well. Much of Gotham's architecture was based on the famous Gothic style which is heavily prevalent across Europe, and the name Bruce Wayne was even based off of the Scottish, outlaw-king, Robert The Bruce. It makes the Bat's trip to Europe much more meaningful than the simple novelty of seeing the character in places which many readers may call home, and serves as a reminder of the character's real-life inspirations.

So, with all that said, if you want to see Batman at his best, from a creative team that you wouldn't usually see on one of his books, then please, give this comic a read. You won't regret it.
