What Happened To Everyone Who Became Ghost Rider?
1. Cosmic Ghost Rider
And now we come to the latest Spirit of Vengeance to ride across the Marvel universe: Frank Castle, the Cosmic Ghost Rider. You're probably wondering how this works, since last you checked Frank Castle was very much alive and decidedly NOT a flaming skull man. Well, this is where that wonderfully confusing concept of multiple universes comes into play, because this is a very different version of Frank Castle, who lost not only his family, but was killed along with the entire human race in his universe by Thanos.
Being, well, Frank Castle, he was sent straight to hell, where he made a pact with Mephisto to return to the world above as a new Ghost Rider. But since time works differently in Hell than on Earth, Castole returned to Earth looooong after Thanos had moved on. Cut to several hundred years later, and we have a VERY different Frank Castle as a result of his isolation in space. Namely, he's completely insane and loves to crack wise like a flaming skull version of Deadpool.
While at first a side character in Thanos' comic series, this version of Ghost Rider became so popular that he even got his own comic series that only made him even more popular among readers. He even (briefly) joined the Guardians of the Galaxy!
