We have two copies of the Blu-ray to give away to our readers. Starring Michael Smiley (Kill List), Peter Ferdinando (Tony), Reece Shearsmith (The League of Gentlemen), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh), Richard Glover (Sightseers) and Ryan Pope (Ideal), A FIELD IN ENGLAND tells the story of a group of 17th century soldiers in the English Civil War. The plot centres on the aftermath of a large battle in which a group of deserters are captured by an alchemist (Michael Smiley) and his henchman. The two force their captives to help them search for hidden treasure they believe is buried in the field, but not until they have feasted on a vast patch of mushrooms. Crossing a large mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, the group of deserters slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field. The film is one of the first to receive funding from the BFI Distribution Fund New Models strand, which supports experimental and ambitious release models. As part of the world€™s first simultaneous film release, 4DVD will be releasing the Blu-ray & DVD loaded with extras for viewers to delve further into Wheatley€™s unique imagination. Extras over both formats include audio commentary with Ben Wheatley (Director), Andy Starke (Producer) & Martin Pavey (Sound Designer). There is an interview with Ben Wheatley, Trailer, Camera Tests Reel. Also, a Digital Masterclass of in depth interviews and explanations of the entire film making process covering aspects of the visual effects, the music, costume, location, the edit and more. The DVD will have over an hour of extras; the Blu-ray version will have over 100 minutes of extras including further material; Journey of a Scene €“ rushes, first cut assembly and final cut; and Anatomy of a Scene.
