007 Reasons Why Quantum of Solace is a Great Bond Film

Debriefing

So, to conclude, Quantum of Solace was a very different Bond film- an experiment, if you will, that didn€™t work completely. Now, I€™ll be the first to point out its flaws- the unavoidable fact it suffered heavily due to the writer€™s strike, that Forster wasn€™t experienced enough in films of such a scale, that it felt kind of rushed in its short running time- and I€™ll admit if every Bond successive Bond film was similar to this I€™d go off the series, but it stands as a bit of a quirk, an oddity in the franchise, but a good one. You could claim For Your Eyes Only, for example, broke the mould, if only fleetingly, as did Licence to Kill, but it€™s diversions like this that keep the franchise fresh and relevant. I feel in years to come people will re-evaluate Quantum of Solace, as they did On Her Majesty€™s Secret Service, with kinder eyes. I don€™t see it as a good bond film, instead as a good film that happens to feature James Bond.
