10 2016 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You
8. Finding Dory
The Buzz: It's been 13 years since Finding Nemo opened to high critical acclaim and an insane $936.7 million worldwide, and ever since, fans have been eagerly anticipating a follow-up. With original-writer director Andrew Stanton returning as well as most of the principal cast, while Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ty Burrell, Idris Elba and Dominic West also join the fray, there are plenty of reasons to hope for another classic Pixar sequel on the level of Toy Story 2 or 3. Why It's Going To Disappoint: So much time has passed and the legacy of the original is so well-established that it's going to struggle to live up to it, and considering that Pixar's history with sequels and spin-offs is fairly inconsistent (for the Toy Story sequels there's also the terrible Cars 2 and decent-but-underwhelming Monsters University), it's basically a crap shoot determining its quality. There's also the possibility that, like so many sequels, it will be overly referential to the original rather than carving out its own identity, and considering how utterly unnecessary this seems, don't be surprised if it can't live up to the already-immense hype.
