3. Halloween 3: Season of the Witch (1982)
This is the one that came about because John Carpenter thought the character of Michael Myers had become played out. So the Halloween films could just be about a creepy event happen at that time every year. In the way that the Howling series was only linked by having werewolves in every film. Granted the film has problems, such as the pacing, but was more interesting then Myers just stabbing people again. The motive for the films villain Conal Cochran, is a disgust with how Halloween has become commercial so plans to get it back to basics with a mass sacrifice, at the aligning of stars. All linked with a heavy media campaign. This premise should be easy to rework. Alternatively, the original film had scenes with a family getting a tour of the Silver Shamrock Novelty Company factory before something nasty happy in the name product testing. Why not do an even creepier version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
