5. Susan - Gregory's Girl
I like the determination that this girl shows. So many teenage girls will wait around for a boy to notice them, but she's totally proactive about it. Clearly clever, as the entire bait and switch date proves. And at the end of the day, she turns out to be a fun, interesting girl that Gregory loves spending time with. I appreciate the fact that she seems like a slightly more attractive version of any random teenager you might run into on the street. Her portrayal is realistic, and all the more relatable for it. She's also just adorable, and very clearly has her own identity at an age when most kids are just trying to follow the crowd.
