With the rise in popularity of the internet over the last decade, with websites like Facebook and Twitter dominating a lot of peoples daily lives, a remake of the 1995 cyber(punk) thriller Hackers seems utterly inevitable. The original starred a pre-fame Angelina Jolie alongside Johnny Lee Miller, Lorraine Bracco and Matthew Lillard, among others. A new version, potentially starring a team of so hot right now young actors, would be a contemporary prospect as it could possibly draw on the prevalence of real-life hacking events involving breaches in national security and world financial troubles that have made the news over the last few years.
