10 90s Films That Hollywood Will Probably Remake

2. Con Air (1997)

What Culture - 90s remakes Con Air The premise of director Simon West€™s gleefully over-the top, often cheesy €˜90s action film seems ripe for a remake. Not that it should be remade per se but the idea of a reinforced prison-with-wings populated by the worst of the worst prisoners is something I think will be too tempting for Hollywood to resist remaking at some point or another. You have the advantage of the diverse array of characters, played in the original film by the likes of Nicolas Cage (sporting yet another one of his distinctive hairstyles), John Malkovich, Ving Rhames and Danny Trejo. Like the original, the remake could bring together some of today€™s well-loved actors - think, for example, Jason Statham as the €œparolee hitchin€™ a ride home€ who has to save the day against, say, Michael Shannon€™s crazed murderer. Wait, is it just me or is this actually starting to sound like a good idea?...
