10 90’s Movies You Forgot Were Totally Awesome

10. Small Soldiers

Small Soldiers was one of those films that, as a child, you knew was a bit too dark for you to be watching. After gaining a PG-13 rating, many parents were skeptical about allowing their children to see this strangely cynical kids movie, but children ate it up just the same. Small Soldiers could have very well been Toy Story if the story had been told from Sid's yard instead of Andy's, following Chip and his band of miscreant toys hell bent on destroying their enemies at any cost. Although the film was met with some concern, it is now well remembered as one of the coolest toy films that came from the 90's in a time where films for kids were nothing but sweet as cherry pie and often dull as dishwater. Small Soldiers was for the girls who always wanted to pair their Barbies with their brothers Action Men, because those guys were far hotter than Kens; the film had an edgy attitude about it that was unheard of in a kids movie and the animation has stood the test of time as much as it's other childhood competitors.
