The Previous Movie: Michael Lehmann's outrageously funny high school satire cast Winona Ryder and Christian Slater as a social climber and social outcast who decide to team up and take out the most detestable excuses for humanity residing at their school.
Why It Was Abandoned: Who really knows? Upon Ryder's 2009 revelation that a sequel was indeed in the works and Slater was happy to return, Lehmann said "Winonas been talking about this for years...she brings it up every once in a whilebut as far as I know theres no script and no plans to do the sequel." Last year, it was instead announced that a TV series reboot of the film would be happening, with Ryder's characters Veronica returning to her hometown with a teenage daughter, who now has to deal with the cliques and high school social stratum herself. Nobody associated with the original movie is attached to star, sdo don't count our interest piqued...
