10 Acclaimed Movies Everybody Now Hates

1. American Hustle

Columbia Pictures

This movie is bizarre in that it had overwhelming critical praise upon release, resulting in a score of 90 on Metacritic, 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and multiple Oscar nominations for almost all of its lead actors and a coveted Best Picture nomination.

However, the film went on to win nothing at pretty much any major award show outside of the Golden Globes, and holds the second-highest record for most amount of Oscar nominations without any wins, leading many to question how such an acclaimed film could fail in awards season so drastically.

The film has seriously fallen in favour in recent years in the online space since its release in 2013, with many calling it overlong, confusing and sloppy. Perhaps a victim of being overhyped, the film is now remembered as being quite boring given its promising subject matter, and is nowhere near as highly regarded as other prestige films of its time.
