10 Acting Careers Destroyed By Great Movies

7. George Lazenby - On Her Majesty's Secret Service

The Film: On Her Majesty's Secret Service was the first official Bond film without Sean Connery as 007, and is generally regarded as one of the better early Bond films as the studios were just beginning to get into the groove of the series. Little known Australian model George Lazenby was cast as the silver tongued secret agent for the sixth installment in the third highest grossing film series of all time. What Happened Next: George Lazenby may be the unluckiest man alive. After starring in his one and only Bond film, Lazenby's manager advised the Aussie to get out of his multi movie deal with the Bond franchise as he thought, get this, that the series wasn't going anywhere and it would be a waste of time. You need a new manager mate. Lazenby was, and still is, the youngest actor to ever play the British secret agent, yet has still managed to fall spectacularly since heeding his agents advice. What Now: Producing mainly straight to video films and voice work in the decades since, the Aussie has well and truly had a tragic downfall from cinematic history after picking up the highly coveted role at such a young age.
