2. Skyscraper (1996)
Just to show that there is equality in Hollywood this 1996 straight to video "girl power" version of Die Hard starred Anna Nichole Smith as a female John McClane. Smith plays Carrie Wink a helicopter pilot who works as an air taxi for the Heliscort company. She's married to Gordon Wink (Richard Steinmetz) who is a cop with the LAPD. A Shakespearean quoting super villain named Fairfax (Charles Huber) gets hold of three devices that will "shift the power balance of the world" and he wants the fourth and last one. This is being held at the Zitex building and Wink accommodatingly takes Fairfax there. Once he arrives he and his gang take over the skyscraper. The voluptuous Wink gets hold of a gun and starts thwarting the terrorist's plans. She also manages to alert the fire department by setting fires in the building and she has quite a few shoot outs with the gang. In a deviation from the usual Die Hard formula, we get to see Wink's reminiscence of two sexual escapades with her LAPD hubby. These occur early on in the film and then later when things start to, "heat-up." But after this slight detour, the film goes right back into John McClane mode and she alone fights the lead baddie to save the day.
