10 Action-Packed Jackie Chan Movies You've Likely Never Seen
7. Snake In The Eagles Shadow
You could be mistaken for taking one look at a trailer or some images for Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and think you were actually watching Drunken Master. They both feature some of the same cast prominently, they're both directed by Woo-Ping Yeun, and they both came out in exactly the same year. However, they're definitely different movies, even if they demonstrate some cheeky similarities.
As the movie came out in the same year as Drunken Master, but didn't achieve anywhere near the same amount of success, or infuse itself into popular culture, it's become a somewhat forgotten and underseen gem of Jackie Chan's career.
The movie follows Chien Fu (Chan), an orphan who was taken in by a kung fu school but subsequently overworked and bullied by the school's teachers and students. Chien ends up helping an old beggar (Drunken Master co-star Yuen Siu-Tien) who is secretly a grandmaster of snake-style kung fu, and one of its last practitioners on the run from a rival clan. The two help each other out through training montages and fights, making this movie a perfect pairing to watch alongside Drunken Master.
