10 Actors About To Play Hugely Against Type

5. Dev Patel As An Arthurian Knight - The Green Knight

David Lowery's new medieval fantasy film The Green Knight looks absolutely stunning, though that hasn't stopped some kicking up a fuss over the casting of Dev Patel as Sir Gawain, the nephew of King Arthur (Sean Harris).

And no doubt, Patel is an unconventional pick to play Gawain, a role that's typically given to white actors above all else, not to mention the fact that Patel's previous foray into fantasy, the maligned The Last Airbender, seemed to swear him off the genre ever since.

But with age Patel has certainly blossomed into a grizzled leading man, and regardless of hand-wringing about "authentic" casting - something Patel is no stranger to, having recently played David Copperfield - he looks set to do brilliant justice to the part.
