10 Actors And Directors Who Absolutely Hated Each Other

5. George Clooney & David O. Russell

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Warner Bros

Film: Three Kings

See? I told you you hadn't seen the last of Russell. This time, he got into it with George Clooney, who - by all accounts - is one of the nicest, most level-headed guys in the business.

Now, apparently Russell didn't want Clooney in the first place. He hated his acting style, and would've much preferred Nicolas Cage. Warner Bros forced Russell to go with Clooney, which most assuredly pissed him off. On top of that, he was dealing with budgetary pressures from the studio.

According to reports, Russell was getting physically and verbally abusive with one of the film's extras during a particularly frustrating scene, shoving the young man to the ground. Clooney - always one to stick up for the little guy - confronted Russell, and depending on which story you hear, Russell either headbutted Clooney, or Clooney grabbed Russell by the throat.

Clooney stated that he would never work with Russell again, declaring that Three Kings was "the most havoc-ridden, anxiety-ridden, angry set that I have ever witnessed," and that making the film was one of the worst experiences of his life.
