10 Actors Completely Cut Out Of Huge Movies
2. Tim Roth - Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood
While Christopher Nolan famously likes to work with many of the same actors on different projects - the likes of Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy being among the most frequent collaborators - so too does Quentin Tarantino.
Alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Madsen, one such Tarantino favourite is Tim Roth. The actor played a key role as Pumpkin in Pulp Fiction, the deceptive Mr. Orange in Reservoir Dogs, and Oswaldo Mobray in The Hateful Eight, and also appeared in the credits of Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood despite not actually appearing in the final cut.
In order to trim the movie down from a ridiculous near-five-hour run time to a slightly less ridiculous near-three-hour run time, Tim Roth's entire character arc was sacrificed. The English actor reportedly filmed a decent amount of footage as the butler of Jay Sebring (Emile Hirsch), though exactly what those scenes involved will likely forever be a mystery.
Roth was apparently shown the version of the movie that did still include his scenes, a treatment not every actor would be lucky enough to receive, and his name still made the credits. Even in cutting him from the film, Tarantino clearly has a huge amount of respect for the man.
