10 Actors Who Didn't Realise They Were In Crap Films
10. Chloë Grace Moretz - Kick-Ass 2
Kick-Ass was great. Kick-Ass 2 was not. Everything that had made the first film work - a balance of action and comedy deconstructing the superhero genre - was gone, replaced with unsavoury humour and an inconsistent tone (one minute the film was repeating it was read in the real world, the next a massive Russian body builder was stacking police cars). The film performed less than admirably at the box office (although comic creator Mark Millar will argue otherwise, it barely broke even), making a sequel unlikely. Given how unlikeable the whole thing was that facts not going to disappoint anyone. Chloë Moretz, who plays Hit Girl (on of the few saving graces in the sequel), thought the films lack of box office legs was really down to something else. When promoting this years If I Stay, the actress was still clinging to the idea that there was nothing wrong with the film itself, blaming the lack of Kick-Ass 3 on the film being so heavily pirated. And that has nothing to do with it having such bad reviews no one would pay to see it.
