10 Actors Who Didn't Realise They Were In Crap Films

9. Sigourney Weaver - Alien: Resurrection

Sigourney Weaver was done with xenomorphs. Alien 3 had rounded off Ripley€™s character arc, with her death stopping the series become a contrived case of sleep-fight-repeat. And yet only five years after David Fincher€™s compromised threequel she was back in Alien: Resurrection. Set a couple of hundred years after the original films, Resurrection sees the company finally get their hands on the titular creature, with a cloned Ripley (mutated with alien DNA) running about ready to muck things up. The script came from Joss Whedon, whose status as a geek God grows with each Age Of Ultron update, but was an utter mess, with the final act reveal of a human-xenomorph hybrid standing as one of the series€™ most ridiculous moments. So why did Weaver come back? What could make this project sound like an interesting prospect? Turns out it was that script; she€™d read it and found the concept so intriguing she went back on her previous departure. According the Special Edition DVD, she found it a return to the tone of the first two films of the series. Well at least one person did.
