2. Gary Oldman Is Such A Chameleon He Had To Re-Learn His English Accent

The legendary Gary Oldman is often celebrated as one of cinema's all-time great chameleons, with his penchant for disappearing into just about any role he takes, ensuring the audience absolutely believes he is the character every single time.

Oldman ultimately immersed himself so deeply in his work that, combined with spending many years living in the U.S., he'd effectively forgotten how to speak with his native English twang.

And so, while preparing to play the lead role in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Oldman had to work with a dialect coach to "brush up [his] English."

In an interview with Graham Norton, Oldman revealed that flecks of an American accent had begun to seep their way into his natural mode of speaking, and so he needed to basically re-learn how to speak English for the role.

He knocked it out of the park, obviously, which is all the more a testament to Oldman's all-timer acting chops.
