10 Actors Insulted By Movie Roles They Were Offered
6. Rose McGowan REALLY Didn't Like Adam Sandler's Casting Call
Rose McGowan is probably best known for playing Paige on the hit series Charmed, but these days, she's better known for her role in the #MeToo movement, which seeks to highlight the rampant sexual harassment people experience in the workplace.
She was instrumental in highlighting the damage caused to her career by Harvey Weinstein, and got people talking about the issue.
Her involvement came about, not when she was offered a role, but when she was given a casting call to audition for one. While the offer wasn't technically made, she was so insulted, it never progressed far enough to get to an offer.
For an unnamed Adam Sandler picture, McGowan received a notice with the following instructions she posted on Twitter:
"Please make sure to read the attached script before coming in so you understand the context of the scenes. Wardrobe Note: Black (or dark) form-fitting tanks that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged). And form-fitting leggings or jeans. Nothing white."
Posting this got McGowan dropped by her agent as a client, but that only pushed her to become more vocal on her Twitter page, which garnered the support of numerous women in the industry.
