10 Actors It's Sacrilege To Dislike

1. John Goodman

Who€ who doesn€™t like John Goodman?! I€™ll tell ya who, friends. FREAKS. Freaks, that€™s who! There€™s something comforting about John Goodman. He€™s like buttered toast, or a warm hug, or a soft blanket that smells like it€™s been newly washed. And even though Nathan Lane has a great voice, man, John Goodman has a fantastic voice. A continuous rumble, with a slight Southern drawl. John Goodman could ring me up right now and talk to me for hours about how lint at the back of the couch is formed, and I would hang on to his every word. Starting out as Dan Connor on Roseanne, John Goodman€™s gone on to have a long and varied career. He€™s been on television (The West Wing, Treme, Community), done voice over work (Monster€™s Inc, The Emperor€™s New Groove), and even tread the boards in the same version of Waiting For Godot that Nathan Lane was in (man, I would have sold my left kidney to have seen that). And of course, it must be mentioned that when it comes to film, he€™s a regular cast pick for the Coen Brothers. The Coen Brothers and John Goodman go together like Jack Daniels and Coca Cola. Charlie Meadows, Gale Snoats and of course, Walter Sobchak, are quirky characters that are immediately identifiable to those familiar with the world of indie cinema. At sixty years of age, Goodman is still an in-demand actor, appearing in The Artist last year, and he€™s also in the soon-to-be-released Argo. And because he€™s a living treasure, may he appear in many more films and TV shows in the future.
