10 Actors Who Could Play Edward Snowden In Oliver Stone's Movie

7. Oscar Isaac

Breaking out last year in a big way in the Coen brothers€™ Inside Llewyn Davis, Oscar Isaac€™s future has been on the up for years. Though it was Llewyn Davis that saw his name become almost household overnight, it€™s his role as Standard opposite Ryan Gosling in Drive that would translate perfectly to a thriller like Stone€™s Edward Snowden project. The pacing of Nicolas Winding Refn€™s masterpiece is electric, and working with directors as talented as Winding Refn and the Coen brothers, to say nothing of his current work with J.J. Abrams on Star Wars: Episode VII, gives him a wealth of experience to bring to the table should Stone come knocking. Isaac, himself, is no beginner when it comes to political projects, starring in the first part of Steven Soderbergh€™s biopic, Che, and he€™s returning to thriller territory in the coming years with J.C. Chandor€™s A Most Violent Year and William Monahan€™s Mojave, two of the most anticipated films of next year. His name is sure to gain even further traction than it already has in the past year, and that he has the talent deserving of that gain makes him worthy of Stone€™s shortlist.
