Most of the allure that comes from a Star Is Born has been Lady Gaga making waves as a bold new actress in her own right. Though we had already known Gaga to have the star power to pull off a singing career, her chops in front of the camera are also not half-bad either if this one box office smash is any evidence. So many people were enamored that they didn't even notice the singing talent happening right under our noses.

Aside from the massive vocal performance on Shallow, Bradley Cooper actually had some fairly compelling moments as a singer in the movie as well. While most of this is clearly meant to inform the character that he was trying to play, the kind of songs that he was singing in the movie weren't anything to sniff at from a raw writing perspective.

Compared to what you normally see out of Gaga, Cooper's style seems more rooted in American rock and roll, calling back to the early days of Bruce Springsteen or even the heartland rockers like Bob Seger and Tom Petty. Then again, whenever tuning in on Shallow, Cooper knows his role is to get the hell out of the way so Gaga can get her groove on. At the same time, you actually need a good hypeman to set you up for greatness, and Cooper's turn as a singer is something that is sure to be intriguing should he decide to release an album.
