The idea of Jamie Foxx actually being a singer isn't all that new to people anymore. Since he already had the music biopic performance of a lifetime under his belt with Ray, why the hell should he not be able to pull off a music career of his own? Well...actually...he did. It just took the rest of us a while to catch up with him.

During the filming of Ray, Foxx was already a veteran in the music industry, being a songwriter behind the scenes while also turning in time on his respective TV projects. Though his creative partnership with R&B singer Adina Howard didn't really go anywhere, he did get the chance of a lifetime when hooking up with a little no name with a backpack out of Chicago named Kanye West.

After initially having a bit of a rocky start, Foxx was able to become a sure-fire feature whenever hopping on one of Yeezy's tracks, from the soul jams of something like Slow Jamz on The College Dropout to reprising his Ray Charles impression for Gold Digger. He can still hold his own by himself though, eventually notching up hits with acts like T Pain as well. In a business that's all about making some disposable material, Jamie Foxx has seemed to have found something that has kept audiences coming back for more with each passing project.
