3. Jared Leto
It's been a fairly depressing journey to the bottom seeing Jared Leto's turn as the Joker in recent years. When you have a resume that includes the likes of Dallas Buyers Club and even bringing Blade Runner back to life after laying dormant for decades, there's no excuse for the overly edgy Clown Prince of Crime that we got in Suicide Squad. Then again, at least Leto has something to fall back on with one of the greatest space rock acts of the modern age.
Although things have been a bit scattered as of late, 30 Seconds to Mars has always been close to Leto's heart, almost being a 50/50 split between his acting career in the early days. While he was already landing bit parts in movies like American Psycho and Fight Club around the turn of the century, albums like a Beautiful Lie were absolute headtrips from back to front, as Leto flexed that giant vocal range he has.
Even if he's done a lot to muddy it with effects over the years, songs like From Yesterday and Attack are still some of the most feral attempts at atmospheric rock that have ever been released in the past 20 years. For as much as he's focused on the screen these days, Jared Leto tends to feel more like a musician who just so happens to be a great actor on the side.
