10 Actors That Tried Being Action Heroes And Failed Miserably

5. Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is a great actor in the right project, and he seems to have finally found his role in Hollywood, because his numerous attempts at trying to establish himself as an action star could very generously be described as mediocre at best.

It's been almost a decade since the last time the Irishman took top billing in a big-budget movie, which is probably for the best because when it comes to blockbuster territory he operates much better in a supporting role, although nobody could have saved Disney Plus' dismal Artemis Fowl from disaster.

The Recruit, S.W.A.T., Alexander, Miami Vice and the Total Recall remake couldn't be more different on paper, but every single one of them highlighted Farrell's shortcomings when it comes to headlining projects that are big on action and spectacle, and it wouldn't be unfair to say that none of his performances, or even the movies themselves for that matter, were received with anything other than an apathetic shrug.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
