10 Actors That Tried Being Action Heroes And Failed Miserably

4. Taylor Kitsch

For reasons unknown to this day, it was apparently decided that the summer of 2012 was when Taylor Kitsch would announce himself to the world as Hollywood's next blockbuster leading man. Unfortunately for him, the experiment ended pretty quickly when both John Carter and Battleship bombed after being released within weeks of each other and sank without a trace.

John Carter has since become a firm cult favorite, although absolutely nobody gives a sh*t about Battleship, but Kitsch's performances in both movies were among the weakest aspects of two markedly different projects that were both riddled with flaws.

The actor has gone on to do some decent work in the years since, but an under-the-radar return to the action genre in American Assassin only yielded another poorly-received box office dud, and he's much better off when all of the pressure and expectation isn't placed squarely on his shoulders.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
