10 Actors That Were Totally Wasted In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

9. Tim Roth - Emil Blonsky - The Incredible Hulk

There€™s a significant problem with The Incredible Hulk when viewed as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: not a single actor has reprised their role in another MCU movie since. The only role which has reoccured was that of Bruce Banner himself, and Marvel decided to recast it for the Avengers, replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo. The only saving grace for the rest of the associated roles is that Blonsky has at least been briefly mentioned, most recently in an episode of Agents of SHIELD. Tim Roth is a tremendous actor capable of playing characters with an incredible intensity; you only have to look at his part in the sadly cancelled series Lie To Me to see that (well worth a Netflix viewing, by the way). But in The Incredible Hulk, he ended up playing a character who seems likely to only ever appear in that singular film, which does essentially feel like a great waste of Roth€™s natural talents. He's worked on television before, and so they might be able to work him into Agents of SHIELD, but a significant problem comes as to whether or not they could afford the special effects. While the return of Blonsky would certainly make for an interesting start at the beginning of, say, Captain America 3,(presuming that his escape from confinement could be described in a future film or on Agents of SHIELD), but as with Sadler and the others on this list, Roth could have had a part of the more significant kind. He could have easily had a star turn in a future Union Jack/Captain Britain movie, or perhaps he should have portrayed the Baron Blood, which - in turn - could have crossed over with a Blade reboot.

I'm a pop culture addict. Television, cinema, comics, games - you name it, and I've done it. Or at least read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.
