10 Actors That Were Totally Wasted In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
8. Amy Acker As Audrey Nathan (Agents Of SHIELD)
Whilst it isn't unusual to see a former Angel cast member in the MCU, it is rather disappointing to see one used on what potentially could be a one off occasion, given that Amy Acker would have made a tremendous Jessica Jones (and was previously included in a run-down of that possible casting on this very website). Instead, she popped up in Agents of SHIELD as Audrey Nathan, the former love interest of one Phil Coulson. The only thing really going for this part is that there is a good chance it might end up as a reoccurring role. This has already happened for Ackers former Angel cast mate J. August Richards, as he plays Mike Peterson/Deathlok on the show. Chances are, then, that Acker's character is headed in the same direction. And yet Acker would have made an excellent Jessica Jones instead. She has an innate ability to project complete and utter helplessness, whilst at the same time she has it in her to appear tough as nails as proven by Joss Whedons decision to switch up the Fred character in Angel by demonic possession, resulting in Acker eventually playing Illyria. So as good as it is to see her working (except for the awful episode of Once Upon A Time she was in), it just seems a shame to waste her on such a forgettable, one note character.
