10 Actors Totally Wasted In 2021 Movies

Trying to resurrect an IP that has been well and truly run into the ground isn't what you'd class as an easy or simple endeavour, by any means. But Chris Rock was hellbent on adding some new flavour to the grotesque mix for 2021's Spiral: From The Book Of Saw.

And though he did succeed in bringing some much needed comedy and a bit more of a police procedural feel to the table, this latest entry into the Saw world was very much bogged down by the usual need to one-up itself with grisly traps and some rather unsatisfying twists.

But perhaps the most disappointing reveal over the course of this body-ripping thriller was the realisation that Hollywood titan Samuel L. Jackson had been brought along for the ride as nothing more than an eye-catching victim to slap an exclamation mark on the whole ordeal.

Instead of having Jackson pump his usual brand of compelling and potentially movie-saving charisma into many a scene, the former chief Marcus Banks is relegated to bit-part player throughout, rarely interacting with Rock as his on-screen son and leaving much of the audience feeling a bit cheated when all is said and done.
