2. Stephen Graham - Venom: Let The Be Carnage
Though Sony's first dip into the symbiote pool may not have been a universally praised piece of cinematic mastery, it did still provide enough fun (and most importantly, dollar) to warrant another dive into the Spidey-less-Spidey-Verse in 2021. This time recruiting the likes of Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris, and Stephen Graham to join Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams for the ride, all signs seemed to point to more of the same in Let There Be Carnage.
And yes, the Eddie Brock/Venom dynamic still popped, and their brand of slapstick comedy was welcomed with hulking, open arms. But for everything that sizzled about the leading forces, the rest of the supporting figures didn't quite get the same treatment.
Though Harris undoubtedly deserved better than being nudged into the two-dimensional, sound-manipulating love interest of Cletus Kasady, it was Graham's appearance as a largely annoying and massively forgettable cop that felt like the biggest waste of talent on show.
Luckily, his fateful blue eye reveal late in the day suggests bigger and hopefully more interesting things on the horizon, but had Venom actually chomped him up early on, would we really have missed Mulligan/Graham in this clunky sequel? Probably not.
